Terry Fator’s journey from the plains of Corsicana, Texas, to the top of the entertainment world is a true showbiz fairy tale. After decades performing at county fairs, kids’ parties, and anywhere that would have him, Terry finally got his big break when he won Season 2 of NBC’s America’s Got Talent, taking home the $1 million prize and the title of “Best New Act in America.”
That victory launched one of the most successful residencies in Las Vegas history, a must-see live show that ran for 18 years, earning numerous awards including Best Show, Best Impressionist, Best All-Around Performer, Best Strip Entertainer and Best Family Show, headlining his own shows at The Mirage, New York-NewYork Hotel & Casino and most recently, The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower.
A master ventriloquist, comedian, and world-class vocalist, Terry is known for his flawless impressions of more than 200 celebrity voices. From Elton John, Elvis Presley, and Garth Brooks to Karen Carpenter, Justin Timberlake, and Bruno Mars. His beloved cast of puppet co-stars includes Winston the Impersonating Turtle, Vicki the Cougar, Maynard the World’s Greatest Elvis Impersonator, and Duggie the annoying neighbor.
Now, after more than 3,500 shows and millions of tickets sold, Terry is entering a new chapter in his career, expanding his creative reach with symphony performances, television projects, corporate events, and an ambitious international tour.
“I’m working on a TV special, finishing my book, and launching my new road show Pure Imagination: Once Upon a Voice, which I have been taking across the U.S. and overseas,” he said.
Beyond the stage, Terry has appeared on dozens of television programs, produced three bestselling DVDs, and penned the autobiography Who’s the Dummy Now, chronicling his inspiring rise from obscurity to fame.
Through the Terry Fator Foundation, he supports numerous causes, with a special focus on America’s veterans. “Veterans hold a special place in my heart,” Terry notes.
At his core, Terry is a born entertainer.
“I just always want to make people smile and laugh,” he says. “I didn’t see success until I was in my 40s, and I’m making up for lost time.”
