Originally from Mission, Texas, twin brothers Rolando Zapata and Orlando Zapata dreamed of pursuing music from an early age. They were inspired by their father, who instilled in them a love of norteño music during their childhood.
By age 10, they were already playing the accordion and bajo quinto, performing at local restaurants in Houston and laying the foundation for what would become one of the genre’s beloved duos.
In 2013, they officially formed Los Dos De Tamaulipas, a name born from their family roots and pride in Tamaulipas, their parents’ homeland. Their first official performance was Oct. 24, 2014, in Houston, a city that quickly embraced them as rising talents in norteño and corridos music.
Rooted in old-school tradition and influenced by legends such as Carlos y José, Los Cachorros de Juan Villareal, Eliseo Robles y Sus Bárbaros del Norte, and Traileros del Norte, artists who mentored them and helped shape their sound, the Zapata brothers have built a style all their own: authentic, relatable, and filled with stories of life that resonate with their audience.
Their music has amassed hundreds of millions of streams, with hits such as “Pura Adrenalina,” “Arriba la Compañía,” “Con Toda la Fe” and “Bendecido.”
Their latest album, Expansión, includes the singles “Súper Snake” featuring Luis R. Conriquez, “El Chavalón,” a No. 1 hit on Billboard and Monitor Latino, and “Ayúdame,” which also reached No. 1 on Billboard.
In 2026, they were named Best New Artist at the iHeartRadio Music Awards and received an ASCAP award for writing “Arriba la Compañía.” That same year, they launched the “Los Chavalones Tour 2026” across the United States and Mexico, playing consecutive sold-out shows.
