As a pioneer of stand-up in Mexico and Latin América, she has been a key figure in the region, inspiring a new generation of comedians. With more than 14 years of experience, she has showcased her talent on the best national and international stages, including theaters, comedy clubs, and festivals.
Her comedy is distinguished by its honesty and sharpness, addressing topics such as social relationships, female identity, politics, and Mexican traditions. She has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Stand-Up Comedy Award in 2015 and the Comedy Award in 2016.
Sofía’s second-most-important region in terms of audience and fastest-growing is the United States, as illustrated by selling more than 20,000 tickets in the first leg of her current US TOUR in 2024.
In 2016, Sofía Niño de Rivera made her Netflix debut with her special “Sofía Niño de Rivera: Expuesta,” filmed at the Teatro Degollado in Guadalajara. With this achievement, she became the first Mexican woman to release a Spanish-language comedy special on the platform.
