COACHELLA ANIMAL NETWORK TO HOLD LOW-COST DOG AND CAT CLINIC AND ADOPTION EVENT AT FANTASY SPRINGS RESORT CASINO ON AUGUST 20
August 18, 2025 – INDIO, CA – The Coachella Animal Network will hold an adoption event and multi-services, affordable clinic for dogs and cats at the Special Events Center at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on Wednesday, August 20 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Services offered include a spay and neuter clinic for cats only. Appointments are required and can be made at www.coachellaanimalnetwork.org. Standby time begins at 7:30am for those who do not have an appointment. The vaccine, microchip, and licenses are offered from 10am-2pm and do not require an appointment. The adoption event will feature both dogs and cats in need of finding a new home and all adoptions fees have been waived.
The Mission of the Coachella Animal Network (CAN) is to promote the well-being of animals and responsible pet ownership in the Coachella Valley and surrounding areas. CAN endeavors to create a community where all animals, particularly cats and dogs, are cared for responsibly, without regard to the owner’s financial ability.
“One day I noticed the stray dogs and cats throughout the Valley and wondered why wasn’t anyone doing anything and someone suggested I do something,” CAN founder and CEO Kim Maguire-Hardee said. “I was naïve and didn’t know what I was getting into, but this has been the most rewarding experience of my life.”
Since July 31, 2013, CAN has spayed/neutered over 25,000 animals in the Coachella Valley. CAN has concentrated on low-income areas, offering affordable spay/neuter, vaccine, microchip and licensing.
“If everyone pitches in, together we can solve these problems and create responsible dog and cat owners,” Maguire-Hardee said. “I’m grateful that I get to do this and help our community in a meaningful way.”
