STORY IDEAS

Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is located in between the beautiful Santa Rosa and Chocolate mountain ranges in the Palm Springs Valley. The area boasts wonderful stories of celebrities, pioneers and now, entrepreneurs. Many people ask what there is to do around Palm Springs. One quickly discovers it's difficult to do everything in the area in just a few days. Whether visitors come to Fantasy Springs for gaming, golf or to enjoy the surrounding area, it offers something for everyone.
Ideas you may want to consider if your assignment brings you to Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and the Palm Springs, CA area.

  • "Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is a short drive from Palm Springs. What is there to do if someone is staying there?” Besides gaming, playing golf, dining, taking in A-list entertainment, guests can get an in-room or cabana massage, visit the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, go for an ATV tour through the desert, visit the nearby famed Joshua Tree National Park, go shopping at the Rodeo Drive of Palm Springs – El Paseo and much more.
  • “Palm Springs has often been known as the playground of Hollywood celebrities. Do Hollywood-types frequent your resort?” Do they ever! Celebrities can be spotted often at Fantasy Springs and at Eagle Falls Golf Course. The resort hosts several high profile and charity tournaments throughout the year that feature celebrity golfers. The hotel and restaurants have also been frequented by Playboy Playmates, musicians and more.
  • “Plan a Nearby Southern California Getaway.” The price of gas still fluctuates and with the economy still uncertain, many people are looking for a less-expensive alternative to a far-away destination resort. Fantasy Springs Resort Casino has it all in terms of the ultimate destination resort. Palm Springs, CA boasts an average 354 days of sunshine and Fantasy Springs features an inviting oversized pool and sundeck surrounded by palm trees. Guests can have drinks and lunch served to them as they bask in the warm desert rays. Room rates are affordable at Fantasy Springs and visitors get to skip the long drive to Las Vegas and the gas money it takes to get there.
  • Award-winning chefs at Fantasy Springs. Several of the best chefs in the Palm Springs area can be found in the kitchens at Fantasy Springs. Executive Chef, Freddy Rieger, loves to share his east coast charm, and his recipe secrets. You just have to ask him nicely.
  • “Who Are the Winners?” Fantasy Springs features 2,000 slots, 40 table games, the Bingo Palace and the Triple Crown Room. Big winners are made every day in the casino. Find out what players use as good luck charms. Slots and table games are also using cutting edge technology, many times without the player even noticing. Take a look at what the tech and data does.
  • “Someone in my group doesn’t gamble.” Many people would rather receive entertainment in a form other than gaming. For those not attracted by the whirr of the slots or excitement of the tables, they can take in a concert, listen to live music, “yuk it up” at the Fantasy Springs Improv Comedy Club, play golf, get a massage, enjoy a gourmet meal, relax by the pool, do some wine tasting at the 12th Floor Wine Bar & Cocktail Lounge, take the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway up 8,500 feet to the top of Mt. San Jacinto, go for a hike, or just watch and in-room movie.

August 24, 2010- INDIO, CA – $20 and a few minutes. That was the winning combination for Richard Becerra of Coachella, CA to win a windfall of cash at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Richard had been playing a $0.50 Double Diamond Wheel of Fortune slot machine inside the Palm Springs area casino for only a few minutes. He had $20 put into the machine and was making max bets. Richard was hopeful as he watched the first reel land on a Wheel of Fortune symbol in the center of the screen. The next reel, then the third landed on Wheel of Fortune symbols in the middle of the slot machine glass. His eyes lit up with elation. He knew he would be taking home a big jackpot, but he had no idea how much until one of the slot attendants told him he had won the progressive jackpot amount of $219,572.00. “I could not believe it,” Richard said. “I come here to hang out maybe once a week since it’s close by but I never thought I’d win anything like this.” Richard said he was too excited to think about what he might do with his winnings.

Back in March of 2010, a man from Joshua Tree, CA won the progressive Wheel of Fortune jackpot of $272,121. Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is the place where winners play. So far this August, Fantasy Springs casino winners have taken home $1,400,000.00. You could be next. Players receive even more perks when they use their Fantasy Rewards cards in their favorite slot and video poker machines.

NUMBER OF JACKPOT WINNERS JUMPED
OFF THE CHARTS IN JULY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - AUGUST 2, 2010
CONTACT: CIARA COYLE 760-342-5000 x.84873
ccoyle@fantasysprings.net

August 2, 2010 - INDIO, CA – The casino floor at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino heated up in July thanks to dozens of big jackpots won by lucky players. July winners who opted to take photos to document their win took home nearly $250,000 in jackpot payouts. The casino gave away $2.25 million more in winnings to thousands of guests. Many Fantasy
Springs players know it as a place they feel luck and win.

Here are the stories of a few of July’s big winners at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.

Blackjack is Jaime E.’s favorite casino game. He spent the evening on July 31st playing that game and when he saw that Fantasy Springs 21 games offered the chance to make an additional bet that would give him the chance to win a progressive jackpot, Jaime took the opportunity. He placed his main bet, plus a $1 bonus bet in case he got the hand that won the progressive. Jaime’s dealer flipped over his cards, showing a King and Queen of spades. Jaime showed his cards – a King and Queen of spades, just like the dealer. That meant he won the entire progressive amount, all because he had bet an extra dollar. Jaime pocketed$27,900 that lucky night.

David D. drove north about 45 minutes to Fantasy Springs from Imperial, CA because his luck has followed him into the Indio casino once before. David found a $5.00 Triple 7 Red Hot slot machine he liked and began playing. In a matter of only three minutes with about $60 in the machine, the three spinning reels all landed on Triple Red Hot symbols across the center of the screen. David had won $20,000. Three months prior to this win, David won $21,600 on a different Fantasy Springs slot machine.

Andrea S. of Indio, CA sat down at one of the oversized $0.01 Power Strike slot during her visit to Fantasy Springs in July. She said she was just having fun and had played about $300 when all of a sudden, the lightning bolt on the machine sounded. Andrea scored the correct combination of symbols on the video reel machine to pay her $22,500.

Robert H. from Palm Desert said “Thank God!” after winning his $26,359 jackpot on a $1.00 Blazing 7s slot machine. Blazing 7s is his favorite slot machine and admittedly now, Fantasy Springs is his favorite casino. Robert said he plans to use his jackpot to pay off some of his house.

The winning continues all the time at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Players also earn valuable casino and resort perks when they play with their Fantasy Rewards cards inserted into their slot and video poker machines, or while playing table games. Signing up as a Fantasy Rewards member is free and easy. Simply stop by the Fantasy Rewards desk located on the main casino level. Guests must be 21 or older to be a Fantasy Rewards member and to enter the casino.

NEW ‘LIT’ BAR/LOUNGE AT FANTASY SPRINGS FEATURES ALL-NEW GAME MAKER VIDEO POKER MACHINES MATCHED BY A SLEEK DECOR

ccoyle@fantasysprings.net

July 30, 2010 - INDIO, CA – Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is unveiling its latest showcase – the Lit lounge on the casino floor. Lit takes over for the former Fantasy Lounge. Inside the ultra-modern and plush bar and lounge, guests will find a large rectangular bar that spills out into the casino. The bar features 24 state-of-the-art Bally Game Maker video poker machines and a host of oversized LCD flat screen televisions and two giant drop-down projection screens, perfect for watching sporting events with friends.

The bar-top Bally games are the first of their kind, connecting with the player tracking system utilized by Fantasy Springs. When Fantasy Rewards members insert their club cards into the bar-top games, they may see the option of participating in various promotions to earn free slot play and other prizes. Instead of checking point balances and downloading credits on one’s player card from a separate monitor next to the machine, the game window on the bar-top machine simply expands and contracts so the player can see his or her status, or can hide it for privacy. The 24 new machines give casino guests the option of playing an array of games on one machine. Each has nine video poker games, several keno options, blackjack and one video slot machine, all at one station. The excitement from the casino and from Lit spill out onto each other as the large, rectangular bar is situated partially inside the lounge and partially on the casino floor.

The color scheme of the room fits rich reds, purples and gold together with muted textures of brushed silver, light maple wood panels and black metallic wall sconces and railings. “As different as all the décor materials and the colors in Lit are, they all partner

with one another in an amazingly aesthetic way,” says Jay Chesterton, Vice President of Food & Beverage and Hotel at Fantasy Springs. Members of the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians tribal council took a hands-on approach to selecting all of the furnishings and determining the color scheme of the room.

More than 20 new employees were hired to staff LIT. Fantasy Springs is hiring another 30 employees in September to staff its new Asian restaurant, Joy.

LIT will present its Grand Opening celebration Labor Day weekend 2010 with bands and other surprises. Live bands will play in LIT every Friday and Saturday night from 9:00p.m. to 1:00a.m. The lounge will also feature pay-per-view sporting events such as boxing, and the complete NFL Sunday Ticket during football season. There is no cover charge to get into LIT unless otherwise stated. Guests must be 21 or older to enter.

She is touring for a handful of dates with the Lilith Fair this summer, plus, she and opera singer Andrea Bocelli recently released a duet covering Simon & Garfunkel’s classic song “Bridge Over Troubled Water.” The prolific R&B singer began her music career at the age of 17 as Uptown Records’ youngest artist. July 20, 2010- INDIO, CA – Major jackpot winners are popping up all over the place at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino this summer. From July 1st to July 16th, the resort/casino had paid out $1,149,000.00 in jackpots. Several southern California residents have suddenly found themselves richer after recent visits to Fantasy Springs.

Robert H. from Palm Desert told the casino’s slot attendants that Fantasy Springs was his favorite local casino. After his recent win, his opinion on the casino, and on the number seven, has been solidified. Robert found a $1.00 Blazing 7s slot machine he liked and began playing. On one spin, the big red 7 symbols lined up across the center of the screen meaning that Robert had just won $26,359. “I thought, ‘Oh, thank God,’” said Robert. He plans to use some of his winnings to pay off his mortgage.

Andrea S. of Indio took a bet on a 1¢ Power Strike machine and parlayed it into $22,500. She said luck has been on her side lately because two months ago, she won a $1,500 jackpot at Fantasy Springs. Andrea, who is a local cashier, said she spent about an hour playing various machines when she settled on the lucrative Power Strike game. “I was so happy when I first realized I won,” said Andrea. She says she’s not sure how she will spend her winnings though she will continue to visit Fantasy Springs.

Kamil Z. drove to Fantasy Springs from the Inland Empire town of Claremont for one of his twice-a-year visits. Kamil liked a 1¢ Hot Shot Progressive slot machine and played for about 25 minutes. After the 25 minutes were up, the Claremont resident saw that the lights on his machine began to flash. “I was actually quite relaxed when I discovered I won,” said Kamil, who is also a professor, about his $18,551.00 jackpot.

Thinking about his lucky turn of events logically, he said it could have been him or anyone else in the casino at the time, though he’s happy the machine worked in his favor. He says he plans to support one of his college’s scholarships with his winnings.

Fantasy Springs Resort Casino was recently recognized for its slots in Casino Player magazine’s 2010 “Best of Gaming” awards. Fantasy Springs Rewards club members can also earn valuable perks just by having with their club cards inserted every time they play their favorite slot or video poker machines. Signing up for the Fantasy Rewards Club is free and easy. Guests must be 21 or older with a valid ID to become a member.

TWO GUYS COME AWAY BIG WINNERS AT FANTASY SPRINGS

ccoyle@fantasysprings.net

July 12, 2010- INDIO, CA – The slots at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino are hot and lots of lucky winners have big smiles and big checks to prove it. Four recent players have won a total of nearly $100,000, plus more big winners each Saturday in the resort’s Bank Busters drawings.
Harbhajan Singh of Anaheim found his jackpot at Fantasy Springs coated in 24 carat gold. He says Fantasy Springs is one of his favorite casinos and on a recent visit, he sat down at a $25 “24 Karat” slot machine. After only two minutes of spinning the reels, Harbhajan hit the gold standard with the symbols lining up across the center of the screen. His quick win netted him $20,000.

Jill Quercio made a trip to the lower desert from the higher desert in Victorville, CA. She says she’s a self-employed, self-made woman and enjoys spending some free time at casinos, though now Fantasy Springs is at the top of her list. Since Jill is living out her American dream, she selected a $50 Star Spangled Sevens slot machine. Whether it was luck or the alliteration of the name of the slot machine on her side, Jill’s all-American machine rewarded her with a $15,000 jackpot.

Noel Bautista went back to Los Angeles with a cool $10,000 in his pocket after a recent stop in to Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. For him, his second visit was a charm and his win came at a very opportune time as his daughter is about to start college. At a $1.00 Quick Hit slot machine, Noel says he played about 30 minutes. On his very next spin, Noel says it was like slow motion as he watched the Quick Hit symbols on the slot reels, one after the other, stop in the middle of the screen. Noel won $10,000 and will use the money to pay for some of his daughter’s schooling.

Cristobal Vallez of Indio zeroed in on a $0.25 Pot O Gold slot machine at Fantasy Springs on July 1st. After playing for only 15 minutes, a rainbow emanated from Cristobal’s machine and the bells sounded. He literally found his pot of gold and won $11,475. He plans to use his winnings for a new car.

Dionicio Astang did not know that his luck was secretly following him. After playing at the blackjack tables and not doing as well as he would have liked, Dionicio was walking out of Fantasy Springs when he was forced to walk another route because workers were conducting routine maintenance on a section of slot machines. As he walked a different way out of the casino, a $1.00 Quick Hit slot machine caught his eye and he started playing. After only a few spins of the reels, he hit the $10,000 jackpot.

In addition to all the Fantasy Springs jackpot winners, more lucky people will go home with more green from Fantasy Springs with the $100,000 Bank Busters & Wild Card Drawings happening every Saturday in July. Then each Saturday in August, the resort-casino gives away more than $20,000 in cash and prizes in the Fantasy Deal Makers promotion. Players who sign up for a free Fantasy Rewards card quickly start earning valuable perks throughout the resort. Guests must be 21 or older to participate in Fantasy Springs gaming promotions.

DOROTHY’S RUBY RED SLIPPERS – DIRECT FROM OZ TO FANTASY SPRINGS SLOT MACHINES

July 7, 2010- INDIO, CA – If guests click their heels three times and find themselves at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, they might just end up somewhere over the rainbow. Fantasy Springs is the first casino in Riverside and San Bernardino counties to install the brand new “Ruby Slippers” slot machine. The penny game is a wide area progressive and is a sequel to the popular WMS Gaming “Wizard of Oz” slot machine, on which a northern California woman won $1.2 million at Fantasy Springs in November 2009. Resort guests can now play any of four “Ruby Slippers” slot machines, located near the escalator on the main casino floor. The game features 45 different ways to trigger any of six bonus rounds. Fans of “The Wizard of Oz” may also feel transported back to the way they felt watching the original motion picture as many of the sights and sounds from the movie are included in the “Ruby Slippers” game. WMS Gaming found very positive comments on the initial release of the game. “These are some of the largest and brightest symbols I have seen…when I walked in I thought, ‘Ooh, I wanna play that!’ It just draws you to it, like it’d be exciting to win on it,” said one market research participant. Fantasy Springs offers three of the original “Wizard of Oz” wide area progressive penny slot machines.

According to the resort’s Vice President of Casino Operations, Lou Crescenzo, games such as the new “Ruby Slippers” are vital to the make up of a casino floor. “These kinds of games are extremely entertaining and guests identify with recognizable characters they know from movies and television,” says Crescenzo. “The technology of a slot machine also has to be accessible to all players.” He says the casino will also be installing 24 brand new multi-game video poker machines in a new venue in August 2010.

May 24, 2010- INDIO, CA – Big changes are afoot at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino this summer and they involve the all-important dining choices at the resort/casino. Fantasy Springs has some changes in store in the spot that currently houses Players Steakhouse. In an effort to add more variety to its array of restaurant options, Fantasy Springs will be closing Players Steakhouse after May 30th. In its place will be “Joy,” an authentic Chinese noodle house also with emphasis on Korean BBQ and Vietnamese favorites. Expected to open this September, the restaurant’s kitchen will be built to facilitate the extremely fast pace of Asian cooking. As Players Steakhouse has become a favorite restaurant for locals and visitors alike, diners will soon be able to find its most popular dishes, including signature steaks, at The Bistro.

Guests of Fantasy Springs have been asking for a restaurant serving Asian fare for several years. The Bistro and POM already offered quite similar dishes on their dinner menus to the Players Steakhouse. The resort’s management took customers’ requests to heart and the result will be “Joy.” It will be one of seven dining establishments within Fantasy Springs. Eagle Falls features an unlikely setting – in the desert. The par 72 course is 6,715 yards with wide fairways, but mounds, pot bunkers and water hazards can make scoring difficult. The course and Fantasy Springs Resort Casino also host the annual Palm Springs Playboy Golf Scramble and the Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational.
