Dozens of football greats descend on Fantasy Springs Resort Casino this March. These kings of the gridiron have traded in their cleats and shoulder pads for nine irons and putters thanks to the 31st Annual NFL Alumni Southern California Chapter Charity Golf Classic.
Monday, March 29th, 36 of football’s best players and coaches will take to the links at Eagle Falls Golf Course and compete for local children’s charities. The tournament’s primary beneficiary is an organization called “Homefront America” that supports children of deployed men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The two day event, held Sunday, March 28th and Monday, March, 29th, kicks off with a lavish pairings party dinner and charity auction on the Sunday evening at 6:00p.m. inside Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Golfers and NFL Alumni are treated to breakfast at the course on Monday starting at 8:00a.m. At 10:00a.m., the golf action gets underway on the championship Eagle Falls Golf Course. An Awards Barbeque at Fantasy Springs immediately follows the tournament.
You have an opportunity to join the golf fun. Tournament entry prices start at $1,800 per team and $475 per golfer. The fees include tickets to the Sunday night pairings party and luxury accommodations at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Golfers will also play alongside a foursome made up of U.S. servicemen and women whose entries are sponsored by event vendors and football stars. The winning golf team in this tournament receives an all-expenses-paid trip to Hawaii and goes on to represent the Southern California Chapter of the NFL Alumni at the Super Bowl of Golf XXX in Maui, HI on April 24, 2010.
There are also many sponsorship opportunities affiliated with this charity tournament. For more information or to buy into the event, call (760) 832-0245 or email gridirongolf@aol.com. Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and Eagle Falls Golf Course welcome charity events held on their property. The Palm Springs area is fortunate to have temperate weather nearly all the time, lending itself to keeping the golf course open most of the year. Charity golf events are hosted at Eagle Falls throughout the year. Some of the larger ones include the NFL Alumni Southern California Chapter Charity Golf tournament and the Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational, just held in February.
The critics have recently bestowed Eagle Falls Golf Course with numerous awards. Some of these include “Best Value Worth The Green Fee” in Southern California for 2009 by Greenskeeper.org, “Best Courses You Can Play” by Golfweek magazine and more. Eagle Falls was opened in late 2006 as part of Fantasy Springs Resort Casino’s major hotel/resort expansion. |
