George Hayes, a retiree from Hemet, CA, came into the resort on a casino-hopping trip with a friend. Fantasy Springs was their last stop before heading home. George simply walked up to a 1¢ Super Spin Wheel of Fortune® machine and put in $40 or $50. Not long after that, he watched five Wheel of Fortune® symbols line up across the center line and knew it had to mean something big. That “something big” turned out to be $1,127,123.88. He says he and his friend make casino-hopping trips every few weeks. On this trip, it was their turn to hit the casinos in the Palm Springs area. The retiree says there was nothing special that stood out about the Wheel of Fortune® game, but he just walked right up and started playing it. “Today is my wife’s birthday. She passed away a number of years ago. In 1985, she won a jackpot at a Las Vegas casino for $250,000, which happened to be on my birthday. Seems like it’s happened again, only the other way around,” said George.
After enjoying dinner at the POM restaurant at Fantasy Springs, Claude D. and his wife decided to kill some time playing their favorite games in the casino. Claude sat down at a Fortune Pai Gow Poker table. He began with $100 and eventually increased his take to $200, always making sure to place a side bet on the progressive jackpot. After about 30 minutes at the table, Claude could not believe the hand he was dealt, a straight flush – 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Hearts. He knew he had a good hand. What he didn’t know immediately was that it was good enough to win him the entire progressive jackpot. “I wasn’t sure whether the straight flush would have to be a royal straight flush,” Claude explained. No royals needed at his Pai Gow Poker game for the progressive win. Claude said he was awestruck that he won $163,425.82 on one hand. He and his wife already planned a trip to Antigua, a trip she bid on while attending the Frank Sinatra Celebrity Invitational at Fantasy Springs in February 2011. Now the couple says they will have some spending money for the trip. They both frequently visit Fantasy Springs and say they will definitely be back.
On Saturday, May 7th, 23-year old Raymond M. of Monrovia, CA headed east to Fantasy Springs with his grandfather and brother for a day of fun in the casino. Raymond says his grandfather enjoys some leisure time at casinos so the dutiful grandson tries to take him for a gaming outing about every other month. After playing a few different Wheel of Fortune® slot machines, Raymond says he wandered over to one $0.25 Wheel of Fortune® game. He had only put about $10 into the new machine, saying “I was maybe on the 10th spin.” “I watched the reels and remember the sound they made. One reel stopped on the middle line with the Wheel of Fortune® symbol showing. It made a kind of “plunk” sound. Then the one next to it and the last one did that, too. I thought, ‘oh wow.’” Raymond started shaking because the machine instantly flashed the word “jackpot” across the LED screen. Then he looked up and saw the progressive jackpot amount he won - $163,584.00.
Frank F. from Indio has a taste of what it’s like to be an ancient Egyptian king with lots of riches. He’s now $10,002 richer after his weekday visit to Fantasy Springs. He says he stops into his favorite local casino (Fantasy Springs) about every other week. Frank picked a $0.01 Pyramid of the Kings slot machine and played for about 30 minutes. On one of his plays, the symbols on the video reel slot lined up in the correct combination to bestow him with 10-grand! However, even kings have bills to pay and that’s what Frank says he will use some of his jackpot winnings on. You could be the next big jackpot winner at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.
Cathy S. has been coming to Fantasy Springs for years because it’s her favorite casino. Cathy’s doubly sure of that feeling after a recent, very exciting Saturday night. Cathy, from the town of Brawley, CA, located about an hour south of Fantasy Springs, entered the casino’s “Audi Madness” Grand Prize Giveaway, held during the month of March. During one of the qualifying drawings, Cathy heard her name called on the loudspeaker. That meant she had five minutes to get to the game stage and play for a chance to win the brand new Audi A4. Problem was, Cathy’s driver license had expired and she was awaiting her new one in the mail. Without a valid ID, she could not enter the drawing. For a moment, she thought her hopes of winning the luxury automobile were dashed. Then, she remembered she picked up her mail the previous day but had not opened it. The stack of letters was still sitting in the front seat of her car. With the game clock ticking, Cathy ran as fast as she could to her car, grabbed her mail and ran back inside the casino. She made it back to the game stage with seconds to spare. Almost miraculously, she held an envelope from the Department of Motor Vehicles. She ripped it open to reveal her new driver license. This made her eligible to come back to play for the shiny new audi A4. Her luck continued through to the Saturday during the grand finale drawing. Cathy and the other contestants vying for the luxury car each picked a keychain at random which bore a number. The wheel landed on the number matching Cathy’s keychain, meaning the $50,000 Audi A4 was hers to drive home. “I could not believe it, that it landed on my number. Though somewhere I though that because of my luck with my drivers license, I’d have good luck with the car, too.”
Fantasy Springs congratulates a lot of recent jackpot winners at the casino. Ronald H. from Cathedral City came in to play a $1.00 12 Times Pay slot machine and in near record time – 30 seconds and having put only $3 into the machine – Ronald came away $10,800 richer after the symbols lined up across the center of the screen. The mechanic says he somehow knew luck was with him that day. Fantasy Springs congratulates all of its many recent jackpot winners. You could be next!
The next time Elizabeth W. pulls up to the valet entrance at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, she will step out of her brand new, luxury E350 Mercedes Benz. Elizabeth drove away with the $60,000 vehicle on Saturday, February 26th from Fantasy Springs as the grand prize winner in the “Romance the Road Mercedes Benz Cash & Prize Giveaway.” The Palm Desert, CA woman was one of 24 finalists vying that night for the new set of wheels. Each contestant was called to the game stage and was asked to select a keychain at random. Each keychain bared a number corresponding to a space on the prize wheel that sat on the stage. The crowd watched in baited anticipation to see where the wheel would stop. All of a sudden, a scream came from the audience. It was Elizabeth exclaiming that the wheel landed on her number. She'll certainly look good driving down the streets of the Palm Springs area in her luxury prize.
A big congratulations goes out to Margaret Ann J. of Destin, Florida. Margaret Ann visited Fantasy Springs recently and found a $0.25 Double Super Times Pay Royal Flush video poker machine she liked. She played for a while, then the top row of cards revealed something monumental for Margaret Ann. On her final bet of the hand, she was dealt a royal flush, the best you can get. That winning hand scored her a cool $10,000. "Oh, shoot!" she shouted. She said it was hard for her to believe it, though she said she can definitely use the money and will probably give some of it to her children.
Marianne W. of Placentia, CA says that the saying, “a watched pot never boils,” is not true. The retired teacher visits Fantasy Springs and the Palm Springs area about once a week. “Every time I came in for about a month, I walked by this Blazing 7s slot machine and looked at it,” admits Marianne. She never played it, however, until one fateful Saturday. She found no other players taking their turn at the $1.00 Blazing 7s slot, so Marianne gave it a few spins. She put in $40 and 10 minutes later, three Blazing seven symbols lined up across the center of the screen. “I was so excited,” she says. She does not have any immediate plans for her $16,954.95 win, though she says she plans to continue visiting Fantasy Springs and the Coachella Valley.
The economy is still troublesome for many people, though bright spots sometimes happen when you least expect it. For Gabriela R., her big win spelled out for her in black and white, and it could not have come at a better time for her family. The West Covina, CA billing clerk visited Fantasy Springs for the first time at the end of January 2011. For her, the first time was a charm. She settled in at a $0.01 Black and White slot machine and after only 10 minutes playing, Gabriela hit the jackpot for $16,155.00. “My husband lost his job last week. I just said a big ‘thank you’ when the jackpot hit,” said the southern California resident. She says she plans to use some of her winnings to pay bills, and will put the rest in savings.
Michael W. was a long way from home when he scored his recent jackpot at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. The Lincoln, Nebraska resident was traveling in the Palm Springs area for the holidays and decided a stop into Fantasy Springs might be a lucky thing to do. He was right. Michael sat down at a Progressive Blackjack table and began playing for about 30 minutes. He continued to place the minimum bet, plus the $1 progressive side bet. That way, on the chance he was dealt an ace and a king of spades and the dealer also got an ace and king of spade, Michael would stand to win a lot of money. Since this was Michael’s third visit to Fantasy Springs, the charm of the number three worked because Michael revealed an ace and king of spades, along with the dealer. He won the progressive jackpot amount which, at that time, was $14,351.24. “I didn’t know that I won. This is fantastic and an awesome way to start the New Year,” said Nebraska man. He did not have any immediate plans for his winnings, though now he’ll seriously consider making a fourth, and fifth visit to Fantasy Springs.
Santa came a few days early for Steve A. from La Quinta, CA (at the time of his jackpot win). He stopped into Fantasy Springs Resort Casino on December 22nd for an evening of entertainment on the casino floor one last time. He’d be moving out of California the very next day. Steve found a $0.25 Ten Play Video Poker machine he liked and sat down. After only inserting $30 and playing for one minute, Steve hit 4 of a kind – all aces. “I thought, ‘Oh my gosh. I’ve never won anything like this. Wait, how much did I win?’” said Steve. Steve pocketed $10,000, just in time for Christmas and his big move.
“Oh my goodness! I cannot believe I won!” were Eugenia A.’s first thoughts after learning that she would be the one driving home in the ultimate driving machine given away courtesy of Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. On Saturday, December 11th, two dozen of finalists gathered at the casino’s event stage, each hoping he or she held the winning number to score the brand new, sparkling white BMW 328i convertible in the “Santa’s Ultimate Sleigh Cash & Prize Giveaway.” With hundreds of people gathered to watch, each contestant came to the stage and selected a keychain at random. Every keychain was tagged with a number that corresponded to a space on the giant prize wheel. As the emcee gave the wheel a big spin, the 24 finalists watched the numbers go around with eager anticipation. The wheel came to rest on space 19, the same number keychain belonging to Eugenia A. of Indio, CA. “I’ve never won a jackpot but today I had a good feeling. On my way to the casino, I found a penny and thought it might be lucky,” said the school district secretary. With a shiny new convertible to put in the driveway just in time for the holidays, Eugenia said she plans on enjoying it with friends and family.
Lorriane B. received an early holiday present courtesy of Fantasy Springs and a $0.01 Playboy slot machine. The Redondo Beach, CA resident said she had not been to the resort/casino in more than a year and was hoping this visit would be a lucky one. She found the slot machine she liked and sat down. Playing for only five minutes with $20 in the machine, the video slot symbols lined up and signaled that Lorraine won $10,500.00. “I couldn’t believe it. I’ve never won a jackpot, or anything before,” she said. She planned to use some of the winnings to pay bills and some for another trip to Fantasy Springs.
Paulette D. of Bermuda Dunes took a short trip to Fantasy Springs the day after Thanksgiving. Just minutes after sitting down at a $1.00 Quick Hit slot machine and with only $40 wagered, Paulette’s machine paid off in a big way. “I thought I must have been dreaming,” she said when she realized she won a $10,000 jackpot in very little time. She planned to use some of the money to pay bills and to save the rest.
Anita G. of San Jacinto, CA made her way down Interstate 10 for a stop into Fantasy Springs Resort Casino a couple days before Thanksgiving. Setting her sights on a $1.00 Triple Stars slot machine, Anita played for about 20 minutes. After that, Anita noticed the first reel had landed on the Triple Stars symbol in the middle of the screen. Moments later, her eyes lit up as the other two reels followed suit of the first. “It’s unbelievable,” she said elatedly. Anita is no stranger to big jackpots. She told the slot department personnel that this is the second $10,000 jackpot she’s won. She said her family will have an even better holiday season with a few more gifts this year.
Eva L. of Los Angeles came to Fantasy Springs on 10/10/10 thinking that the date made the day a lucky one. Eva’s thought process was right on. She found a $1.00 Quick Hit slot machine she liked and began to play. She said she deposited about $20 into the machine and on her second spin, the Quick Hit symbols lined up across the center of the screen causing Eva to instantly become $10,000 richer. “It’s $10,000 on 10-10-10,” said Eva. “It’s like it was meant to be, though I still can’t believe it!” She says she plans on sharing some of her winnings with her son.
Sandra K. of La Quinta says Fantasy Springs has always been her favorite casino in the Palm Springs area. After a recent weekend visit, Sandra is even surer of her opinion. She found a $1.00 Black & White Quick Hit slot machine she liked and began playing. Sandra spun the reels for about a half-hour, and then, something happened she never expected. On her next spin, the Quick Hit symbols landed in the center of the screen. “I thought I had won $1,000, and that would have been great,” Sandra says. “I was so shocked when I found out I won $10,000!” She says she plans on saving her jackpot winnings.
Irma R. says she has beginner’s luck. On a trip from McFarland, CA (near Bakersfield) to the Palm Springs area, she stopped into Fantasy Springs for the first time to try her luck. Irma sat down to play a $1.00 Triple Red Hot Strike slot machine and was there about 20 minutes. After that, her luck kicked into high gear causing three Triple Red Hot Strike symbols to land across the center of the screen. That meant Irma was going home to the Bakersfield area $12,000 richer. She says she will probably spend the money on bills, though she would leave a little “play money” to enjoy herself inside the casino at Fantasy Springs.
$20 and a few minutes. That was the winning combination for Richard B. of Coachella, CA to win a windfall of cash at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Richard had been playing a $0.50 Double Diamond Wheel of Fortune slot machine inside the Palm Springs area casino for only a few minutes. He had $20 put into the machine and was making max bets. Richard was hopeful as he watched the first reel land on a Wheel of Fortune symbol in the center of the screen. The next reel, then the third then both landed on Wheel of Fortune symbols in the middle of the slot machine glass. His eyes lit up with elation. He knew he would be taking home a big jackpot, but he had no idea how much until one of the slot attendants told him he had won the progressive jackpot amount of $219,572.00. “I could not believe it,” Richard said. “I come here to hang out maybe once a week since it’s close by but I never thought I’d win anything like this.” Richard said he was too excited to think about what he might do with his winnings.
Doug G. is seeing triple and double stars after his recent visit to Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. The Sunset Beach, CA resident took a recent weekend trip to the desert and stopped in at Fantasy Springs. He sat down at a $1 Triple Double Stars slot machine and began to play. After only about five minutes and $40 wagered, Doug says he started to see stars. He got the winning combination across the slot machine screen that awarded him $10,276. “I didn’t believe I actually won,” said Doug when he first realized his good fortune. He says he’ll be back to Fantasy Springs because it’s a lucky place for him.
Jaime E. made his way to the Palm Springs area from La Mirada, CA on the final day of July. Blackjack is Jaime’s game and thought it was even better now that Fantasy Springs offers a possible side bet for $1 if players want to take a chance on a progressive jackpot. Jaime says he comes to Fantasy Springs once or twice a month and after his last visit, it’s his luckiest place. He placed his main bet – about $15, plus a $1 bonus bet in case he got the hand that won the progressive. Jaime’s dealer flipped over his cards, showing a King and Queen of spades. Jaime showed his cards – a King and Queen of spades, just like the dealer. That meant he won the entire progressive amount, all because he had bet an extra dollar. Jaime pocketed $27,900 that lucky night.
David D. from Imperial, CA has his luck follow him into Fantasy Springs. This accountant sure knows his way around money. In April 2010, he scored a $21,000 jackpot on a 12Xs Pay slot machine. Most recently, David won a cool $21,600 on a $5 Triple 7 Red Hot slot machine. He says he wagered around $60 and only played the lucky machine for about three minutes when he saw the reels line up across the center of the screen. “$20,000! Wow!” he thought when he first saw he won. David says he will be back to Fantasy Springs Resort Casino to see if his luck follows him a third time.
